Ever have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning? Yeah, quite a few of us humans do. It is like we do not really want to go to bed and sleep in the first place, then when we are, we do not like waking up. Funny thing there I would say. Fortunately, I do not currently have any problems getting out of bed in the morning. But once upon a time, I did. Oh, the sound of that alarm clock, shocking me out of a peaceful slumber.
Oh, yeah! The alarm clock. Once upon a time I had this little system of setting alarms. The same system has currently been recommended to me. I had three separate alarm clocks to theoretically get me up. We had alarm one. This was the time that I wanted to get up. It allowed me a little extra time to get done what I needed to and calmingly get to whatever time sensitive task I had to do. Then there was alarm two. That was the actual time I needed to get up. I can still comfortably get everything done, but just without the luxury of extra time. Then there was alarm three. This was better get your derriere out of bed now if you have any desire to keep a strand of sanity.
Now here is what the deal is. Each clock came with a handy snooze bar. Yay snooze bar. This extended the amount of time by seven or eight minutes. But there is a dilemma with that. It is not acceptable to get out of bed at 6:08. It either had to be 6:05 or 6:10, on the five-minute mark. That was kind of a unwritten rule. So, we are forced to stay in bed until that snooze bar alarm fell on the five-minute mark.
Now, alarm two goes off. Wow. And guess what I do? You got it, press the snooze bar. So, now I have two different alarm clocks going off at different eight-minute intervals. And once again, I cannot get out of bed until now both of them go off at the same time on the five-minute mark. That goes on a couple times.
Now, enters alarm three. Of course, this was the final one, the I desperately need to get out of bed one. But do I? Oh no. What do I ? If you guessed press the snooze bar, well you have earned a kudos on that. So not I have three alarms, three different alarms, three times, and a urgent need to get out of bed. An alarm would go off, and it took me forever to figure out which snooze bar that required to be pressed. I was in a situation where I had to stay in bed until all three alarms went off at the same time on the five-minute mark.
Let’s just say that I have shown up to work many times late.
Gosh. I feel that I am lucky that I am out of bed now.
